My mother, Alberta Stephenson Walker Schupfer Turner, was a first cousin of Melvin Procunier. My grandfather, John Stephenson, was a brother of Frances and Emma. John died when my mother was 5 years old and Emma and her husband, Norris Walker, adopted her. Roberta's story is very interesting to me. Our families used to get together when I was a child. My son Tim, began farming the Procunier place nearly 30 years ago, when Alpha was still living. Now Tim, my husband, Don and I own the Procunier farm. The old house was torn down last fall 2006.
