Austin Peter LaChapelle,  the son of Catharine Procunier & Andrew LaChapelle; married Amelia Leigh on 18 Feb 1903 in West Oxford township.  Austin was born in Erie View, Norfolk, Ontario on 11 Feb 1867, died 17 Jan 1960 while living in Windsor, Essex, Ontario.  Amelia Leigh was born in Walsingham Twp. West Oxford Co., Winsor, Ontario on Christmas eve 24 Dec 1860, died on 26 Mar 1932 while living in Ingersoll, Ontario.

Austin Peter LaChapelle was born February 1,1867 to Andrew LaChapelle and Catherine Procunier at Erie View on the first concession of South Walsingham Township in Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada.

On February 18,1903 he married Amelia Leigh at her home, Woodside, at the intersection of Highways # 401 & 10. Mary Sparks was the flower girl at the wedding. Austin was a cheese maker at two locations in Dereham Township of Oxford
County,Ontario. The first factory was near Dereham Centre on the seventh concession just west of Highway # 19 on county road # 27. This location was known as the Prouse Cheese Factory. It was at their home adjacent to the factory that their son A.G. Leigh LaChapelle was born.Austin who next operated the New Lawson Cheese Factory on the first concession on county road # 13 about four miles east of Salford., Ont.

In about 1911, Austin, Amelia and Leigh moved to Ochre River,
 Manitoba, Canada where he ran a general store and sold
 insurance. Later he moved to Minitonasi,Manitoba where he 
operated a lumber yard for the Security Lumber Co. In 1920,
 Leigh returned to Ingersoll to live with his aunt, Mary Leigh, an
d attend the Ingersoll Collegiate Institute.

Austin and Amelia also lived at HyasSaskatchewan. In 1929,
 they were in BeadleSaskatchewan. Their last place in the
 west was at Yorkton,Saskatchewan. At these places he ran
 the grain elevators.

In 1939 Austin left the west and returned to Tillsonburg where
 he lived with Arthur and Estella Abbott. It was in 1939 that
 Austin, Leigh and George took a vacation trip to Kirkland
 Lake in Northern Ontario. Later,Austin moved to Windsor
 where he lived in various rooming houses. Late in 1959, 
he was admitted to a Windsor hospital. He died January
 17,1960. He was buried in Forestlawn cemetry,
 11851 Van Dyke, Detroit, Mich. in lot, 20, Section 14.
