Samuel Roarer Brockunier Born 12 June 1795 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania to the parents of Henry & Rosanna (Oaks) Brockunier SR, Samuel died 22 July 1867.  Samuel married Sarah Zane Clark on 6 May 1824 in Bridgeport, Ohio. Sarah was born 19 September 1797 Block House, Wheeling, West Virginia and died 11 February 1882 on their family farm in Wheeling, West Virginia.

The REV Samuel R. Brockunier was a Circuit-Riding Minister in Pennsylvania & Ohio. Samuel was also a Deacon in the Methodist Episcopal Church, empowering him to Solemnize marriages in the State of Ohio, which was entered into the records in Belmont County, Ohio on June 13, 1823. Samuel was appointed to the West Wheeling Circuit in 1828. Samuel died at his Bloomingdale Farm 3 1/2 miles west of Wheeling, West Virginia. (REF: West Virginia & Its People Vol III 1913).  Samuel's son Charles Wesley Brockunier became a wealthy Glass Manufacturer and Oil man while living in West Virginia.
