John Nicholas Peckoner JR, Son of Johan Nichol Peckoner SR was born in 1725 Alsace-Lorraine, Germany. John arrived in America with his father and family in September 1740 on the ship Lydia. Possibly a Huguenot, & possibly went to (West) Virginia. However while doing research in the Pennsylvania Archives Third Series Vol. #29, General Index Vol. 11-26 Ka-Re page 749 I found a Jno Proner and Nich's Proner both in "xvii 627". Also listed are Peter Procunier, George Proker, George Proomer, Henry Prooner, Jacob Prooner, Jno Prooner, Peter Prooner, and Jacob Proonis. George, Peter and Henry Prooner all paid taxes listed in the Returns & Valuations in Vol. 117 P415.

Note: A new book has been written on the Beckner Family 1996.  In this book by Brenda & Barbara Beckner, they mention that they believe that this John Nicholas Peckoner JR is their Johan Nicholas Beckner JR and is listed in their lineage up through Johan Nichol Peckoner SR who came to America on the ship Lydia in September 1740.

Caution: I was told by the Beckner authors not to put any more information from their book on my website, so this will be all on those Beckner's.  .....  David C. Procuniar 7/11/98
